A London decorating and DIY specialist will bring extra gloss to a Dulwich school in 2022 by donating materials for a makeover of an old house on the site. Goodrich Community Primary School, based on Dunstans Road and with more than 600 pupils, received £500 worth of product and materials from Leyland SDM.
The donation was made to celebrate Leyland SDM’s opening of a new store in Dulwich and will be used to renovate the old school caretaker’s house on the premises to make it suitable to host music lessons and clubs.
Eleanor Fawcett, chair of the Premises Committee, said: “We are thrilled to have received the donation from Leyland SDM and will be putting it to excellent use with paint and other associated products.
“The house used to be occupied by the caretaker but that hasn’t been the case for some time and we are keen to use the building to support our overall education provision for our pupils. It does need some work and the Leyland SDM donation will help us ensure the rooms are ready to host music lessons and other extra-curricular activities.”
Leyland SDM, which has 32 stores across London, opened in Dulwich in November at 113 - 115 Lordship Lane (SE22 8HU).
Store manager Debbie Hall said: “Contributing to the local communities in which we operate is at the heart of our philosophy at Leyland SDM and this is another example of that. Goodrich Community Primary School is attended by hundreds of children from families living in and around Dulwich and we are delighted to play a part in supporting their education.”
The Dulwich store stocks a comprehensive range of thousands of products across all departments, including paint and decorating essentials, building materials, electrical fittings, tools, plumbing equipment, ironmongery and much more, all under one roof. Leyland SDM has grown to become one of the most recognisable and trusted decorating and DIY companies in central London with stores in prominent locations across the city.
Some of the biggest and best-known DIY brands are available at Leyland SDM, including Farrow & Ball, Tesa, Bahco, Bosch, Purdy, Dulux Trade, Leyland Trade, Stanley, Ronseal and DEWALT.
