​​We are regarded as the trusted decorating and DIY retail brand in Central London, selling paint, tools, plumbing, electrical & woodwork materials throughout our 29 stores (We’re about to open our 30th). This is a newly created role to provide an effective and efficient HR support service to the business. Reporting to Sandra, our HR Business Partner, you will be proactively supporting managers and colleagues in the delivery of key HR policies and processes as well as supporting Health & Safety initiatives.

  • Provide proactive first line advice, assistant and guidance to colleagues and managers in all areas of Company policy, procedures, legislation, in particular:

  • Performance Management and Probationary Periods

  • Investigations

  • Disciplinary & Grievance cases

  • Absence Management & Attendance

  • Health & Safety Initiatives

  • Effectively challenge and coach Managers to ensure a confidential, fair and consistent approaches are taken in line with relevant legislation, company policies and best practice

  • Support the evaluation, redesign and continuous improvement of HR policies and practices to ensure the most effective processes exist

  • Maintain and proactively keep track of open cases and sharing the information as and when required

  • Support the wider HR team in the production and delivery of information briefings and metrics on a range of HR related topics

  • Support and influence H&S initiatives across the business and supporting the roll out of H&S programmes

What key skills and experiences are we looking for?

  • Proven record in HR advisory roles

  • Good organisation and administration skills

  • Experience of working in a multi-site operation with exposure to high volume and complex case work

  • Excellent attention to detail and able to work towards tight deadlines

  • Be excellent with systems and processes

  • Have good communication skills and the ability to liaise with people at all levels within the business

  • Good awareness of ER policies and procedures and the implementation of these practices across a business

  • Customer contact experience including query and escalation handling

  • The ability to research, analyse and reason logically within tight and conflicting timeframes

  • Experience of working independently from a line manager

  • Experience of working in a multi-site operation with exposure to high volume and complex case work

  • Personal integrity, dependability and confidentiality

This role will require some travel across our London stores.
