As Finance Manager, you will manage all aspects of the Leyland SDM finance function, including accounting, reporting and purchase ledger.  You will lead, develop and motivate the team and contribute towards transforming and modernising the finance department to support the growth and development of the business.

 

What will you be doing? 

You'll be responsible for all the financial reporting processes and deadlines, preparing budgets, forecasting as well as driving simplification, standardisation and continuous improvement of processes and controls.

 

You'll lead, support, inspire and engage finance team colleagues to review and challenge all aspects of finance function’s service performance, to identify opportunities and put forward recommendations for improvement, thereby ensuring the continual development of the Finance function and it’s value to improve the success of the Company.

 

What Skills & Experience will you need to have? 

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 2 years PQE
  • Demonstratable experience within a financial reporting / financial controlling environment
  • Excellent and proven people management skills with a track record of developing people and teams
  • Excellent communication skills with good conflict resolution experience.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and accounting Software,
  • Organised and adept at working to strict deadlines
  • Results driven and change-orientated
  • Ability to dive deep into data, existing processes, people and technology challenges in order to identify issues and opportunities.
  • Track record of having earned the trust of a leadership team by challenging norms, upgrading team performance, enabling growth, and improving efficiency. Experience from a ‘Big 4’ accounting firm would be desirable.
  • Experience of working in a challenging, fast paced, multi-site, retail environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft AX Dynamics is also desirable.
  • Ability to drive process improvements
